Is not this power the spirit of Him whose kingdom is yet to come, and whose will to be done on earth as it is in heaven? 时代已经显示了它的预兆，因为这就是上帝的意志。上帝亲自统治的国家即将出现，在这个国度里神的意图将被实现，就像生活在天堂里一样。 But who may abide the day of his appearing? Christians! every time that you pray that the kingdom of Christ may come, can you forget that prophecy associates, in dread fellowship, the _day of vengeance_ with the year of his redeemed? 这些严厉的谕旨不正是针对一个缺乏道义和正义的国家而言吗？基督的信徒们，当你们祈祷那属于耶稣的国度会实现的时候，是否会想到：全能的先知总是在拯救他的子民时，也惩罚所有的罪恶。得救与报应总是紧密相关的。 A day of grace is yet held out to us. Both North and South have been guilty before God; and the _Christian church_ has a heavy account to answer. Not by combining together, to protect injustice and cruelty, and making a common capital of sin, is this Union to be saved,--but by repentance, justice and mercy; for, not surer is the eternal law by which the millstone sinks in the ocean, than that stronger law, by which injustice and cruelty shall bring on nations the wrath of Almighty God! 可是上帝仍然仁慈宽容，给予我们期限来挽救祖国。在上帝眼里南方和北方都一样是有罪过的，基督教会本身也犯下了严重的过失。假如我们联合起来维护邪恶和暴虐，或者利用奴隶制来赚取私利，这都不能够使美国得救；获得救助的惟一办法就是忏悔、伸张正义和仁慈。坚实的磨刀石会永远沉没在海底，这是一个永恒的规律。同样，所有邪恶和残酷手段必将遭到上帝的惩罚，这也是一条不可更改的、严酷的法规！ |
