（一年半后，圣诞节前夕。马里兰州；巴尔的摩市。安妮·里德和未婚夫沃尔特正准备前往安妮父母家。他们把美大包小包的的圣诞礼物走向停车处各自的车。沃尔特正试图记住安妮的家庭成员。） Walter: the tall one with red hair is your cousin irene... 沃尔特：高个子、红头发的是你表姐上批 Annie: you'll recognize her by the disappointed look on her face. 安妮：你会发现她整天愁眉苦脸。 Walter: who's married to harold, who "ran off with his secretary. 沃尔特：她嫁给哈罗德，然而艾夫却带着文秘书私孬了。 Annie: but came back because irene threatened to put the dog to sleep if he didn't. 安妮：但他又回来了，直到艾琳威胁如果他不回来，就把狗结果了。

安妮：懊，沃尔特！他们会喜欢你的。 (during the dinner.) （在晚宴上。） Barbara: everybody! Annie has an announcement! 芭芭拉：大家注意！安妮有事要宣布！ Annie: oh, walter and i are engaged! 安妮：噢，沃尔特和我订婚了！ (with annie's announcement, everyone cheers. Cliff gives her a kiss, and the others all shake hands with walter to congratulate him. But walter sneezes all at once.) （随着安妮的宣布，每个人都欢呼起来。克利夫吻了安妮一下，其他入则纷纷与沃尔特握手以示祝贺。但沃尔特突然大打特打起喷嚏来。）

沃尔特：不，别碰它们！真难堪，偏偏这个时候打喷嚏。这可是我一生中的盛大时刻。 Annie: he's allergic to everything, don't worry about it. 安妮：不要担心。他对什么都过敏。 Harold: bees. I'm allergic to bees. 哈罗德：蜜蜂，我对蜜蜂过敏。 Irene: harold is allergic to every type of bee. We always have to carry a ^hypodermic of ^adrenaline wherever we go. 艾琳：不管是哪种蜜蜂，哈罗德都会过敏。我们总是随身带着肾上腺素皮下注射剂。 Annie: if he eats even one tiny piece of a nut... 安妮：哪怕是吃上极小的一小颗果仁

沃尔特：不会吧。但谁也不知道。 Harold: you never know. 哈罗德：谁都不知道。 Irene: harold wasn't always allergic to bees. 艾琳：哈罗德不是每次都对蜜蜂过敏。 Barbara: oh, honey, what a shame. We had some champagne and, what did we use it for? 芭芭拉：噢；亲爱的，真是的！我们有香槟呀；我们用它作什么的？ Dennis: uncle milton's "parole. 丹尼斯：庆祝米尔顿叔假释。 
米尔顿：味道不错。 Barbara: it-wasy-wasn't, it, milt&h -darling?- 色色拉：的确不错，是不是，米尔顿，亲爱的？ Betsy: when are you getting married, annie? 贝丝：你什么时候结婚，安妮？ Cliff: in early june. In the garden. 克利夫：六同初，在花园举行。 Harold: does it have to be in the garden? 哈罗德：一定要在花园举行吗？ 
艾琳：哈罗德和蜜蜂怎么办？ Harold: i'm allergic to bees. 哈罗德：我对蜜蜂过敏。 Barbara: we'll spray you. 巨色拉：我们替你喷杀虫剂。 Cliff: cold salmon. A lovely cucumber salad. Strawberries. 克利夫：冰冻鲑鱼。美味的黄瓜沙拉。还有草莓。 Walter: i'm afraid i'm allergic to strawberries. 沃尔特：我恐怕会对草莓过敏。 
安妮：婚礼的安排你同意吗；沃尔特？ Walter: today i consider myself the luckiest man man man on fa fa face of the the the the earth. 沃尔特：令天我是世世世界上最最最最幸运运运的人。 Annie: the lou gerig line! Remember, remember dad? 克利夫：《杨基的荣耀》！ All: yeah! Oh, yes. 众：对！噢，没错。 Milton: baseball. It's baseball. An historical reference. 米尔顿：棒球。这是棒球。这句话名垂青史。 Dennis: i would like to propose a toast. 丹尼斯：我提议举杯庆祝。 All: here, here. 众：来吧，来吧。 
丹尼斯：敬我的小妹妹。 Cliff: to walter and my baby. 克利夫：敬沃尔特和我的宝贝。 Barbara: to walter and annie. 芭芭拉：敬沃尔特和安妮。 (everyone toasts them and gives good wishes.) （每个人都和他们碰杯并许下美好祝愿。） Barbara: everyone please eat before it gets cold. 芭芭拉：大家快吃；菜都冷了。

芭芭拉：那你又怎么解释你们叫了除开面包不一样以外、几乎一模一样的三明治？这世上有多少人只吃莴笋蕃茄三明治而不同时要点生枪鱼什么的？ Annie: well, it wasn't a sign. It was a coincidence. 安妮：这不是预兆，这只是巧合。 (annie puts the wedding dress on.) （安妮穿上了结婚礼服。） Barbara: i was in atlantic city with my family. Cliff was a waiter. He was even supposed to work that night suppose he hadn't. He asked me to take a midnight walk on the steel pier. I've probably told you this a million times, but i don't care. And then he held my hand, at one point i looked down, and i couldn't tell which fingers were his and which were mine.
