(西雅图,萨姆请来克拉丽斯临时照着乔纳,而自己即将赴约去见维多利亚。出发前地显得有些紧张。) Sam: ok, clarice. I'm get to be back either by midnight, or 8:30 if disaster strikes. Now that's a sign! (sam lets the map rolls up.) I'm out of here. Good bye! Good night! I love you! (door slams shut. A second later he opens it again.) (餐厅楼上,安妮雇佣的私家侦探正拍下萨姆的一举一动。) (the next week, sam and jonah are waiting for victoria at a market. It's the first time jonah has met her and he seems not to be very happy with his dad's choice.) 维多利亚(大笑):噢,太好笑了!你真风趣 Sam: if she wants something done, she goes through this whole song and dance about how, "oh i don't know, i'm stupid, you tell me, you know better than i. But couldn't we just ^flip the whole house around so that everything that was on one side is now on the other and everything that was in the back is now in the front? And could the whole front of the house open up on one big hinge, that way i can just get in with a garage door op.enier?" ljust say, yeah, yeah we can do that. 维多利亚:我很高兴你喜欢。晚安,乔纳。 Sam: yeah, we don't see a lot of potatoes around here. We're rice men. 萨姆:没错,我们这儿很少吃土豆,我们吃饭。 (later that night, jonah sneaks downstairs to spy on his dad and victoria as they stand on the deck and talk. He telephones the broadcasting station. Hearing this, becky makes a call at once to annie, waking she and walter up. In the darkness, annie hits walter's face when she stretches for the telephone.) She, she's having trouble with rick again. I'll go downstairs. (to becky) i'll go downstairs, becky, and call you back. I'm sorry walter. Jonah: it was right over there. 乔纳:它刚才就在那儿。 Sam: well the next time you think you see a black widow spider, i want you to say, "dad, excuse me, but i believe a poisonous insect is in the house," and i will calmly come and take care of it.
